Our u13s Dons team are preparing to embark on a virtual run visiting all 12 2019/20 SPL Stadiums to raise funds for Aberdeen FC Community trust as part of the #stillstandingfree campaign.
The girls will be running as part of their set online training program and tracked using the Strava app to record their distances each day and cumulatively they will run the 379 miles from Rugby Park Kilmarnock visiting St Mirren Park, Ibrox, Parkhead, New Douglas Park, Fir Park, The Tony Macaroni Arena, Tynecastle, Easter Road, McDiarmid Park, The Global Energy Stadium and finishing up at the home of Aberdeen FC, Pittodrie Stadium starting from 9am on Monday 22nd June and will complete the run when the cumulative mileage of the girls runs meets the 379 target distance. You can follow them from the teams Facebook page to see how they are getting on at https://www.facebook.com/afcldons/
The run was thought out by coach Raymond Henderson who said “The work that AFCCT have carried out during lockdown for the local community has been outstanding and we thought that if we could raise a little money to help them continue the hard work they have been carrying out during these unprecedented times then this would be a good way to do it and combine it with a bit of the girls physical training activity”.
