Aberdeen Development team knew Sunday’s game against Glasgow Rangers Premier ladies would be challenging, but the players were looking forward to the game. Rangers are a team of with Scottish internationalists, and play 2 leagues above the development team so the girls were under no illusion this was going to be a tough tie.

Due to injuries and holidays the development team were made up with u16s reserve and development players. The goalkeeper Lauren Dawson was playing for the first time in 2 years and did an excellent job between the sticks. With the Dons trailing 2-1 at halftime their first half goal came from Natalie Brown after some fine passing play from Aberdeen.Rangers came out sharper and capitalised on their experience and the score finished 7-1 at full time.
The Rangers coaches commented on the style of play Aberdeen had adopted for this tie, complimenting the team on how they attacked Rangers and didn’t sit back and defend.

The team would like to thank all family and friends who came to support them and would also like to thank the Brig o Dee bar for the use of their function suite.

We wish Rangers all the best as they continue in the Scottish Cup competition.
